Told the landlord that I’ll be out of the apartment by 11/30 – He wasn’t too happy to hear that I’d paid first, last and security, and that my lease was a 30 day notify, but such is life.
On call from midnight on Saturday night to Monday Morning 9am… I may take Monday as a personal day afterwards. Possibly hanging out with Uber’s buddy Wendy today or tomorrow sometime to goof off and destress, which can be a jim-dandy thing. Always fun to make new pals, get some food, and have some laughs.
Not sure how the Casa de Wendy did after the ‘cane, but I’m still at 1/2 power.
Hm, if I’m going to work, I need to hit the laundromat today or tomorrow sometime, too. That’ll be the last time I go there, most likely.

Great news about Herm! Mending well... I'd been quite concerened. I hear 2L is super laggy these days, not that I'd be contributing to said lag... mr lappie isn't up to the demands that place makes on a machine.
Went to update the wardrobe a bit, and was out of luck… the place had flood damage and was closed.

I used to believe that. Sadly, I’ve uncovered some seriously malicious stupidity in recent days. Why have one, instead of both?
Also, whatever happened to “Lead by example”? In most gigs the last decade or so, it’s been a case of “Do as I say, not as I do.”
Ah well, no big whoop. I’m not going to harp on the limitations of others. Meanwhile, I have a new place to get ready for a move-in and folks to be friendly with.
This weekend, I put the starting moves on boxing up all non-essential goods… I think that I can get everything over to the new place in one trip of a U-haul. The tile is down already, and it’s getting an acid wash shortly… New sinks, a new commode and running a little cable for phones will happen over the course of this and next week.
Basic condo info – One bedroom, third floor, pool access, washing machine two doors from my place, ($.75 a load) a clubhouse with a pool table, library, ping-pong table and meeting area (would’ve been fantastic for gaming back in the day.) Ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room, both high enough for me to walk under comfortably. Maintenance covers the cost of basic cable… I’m not a big fan of Comcast’s south florida service, but free is free. A lot of nice grounds to walk, with a fairly large iguana population by the lake. Walking distance to Federal Highway, which is a major mass-transit backbone. Central Air. Built in 1969. New Fridge and dishwasher. BBQ grills outside here and there. Garbage disposal. Covered parking. Super tiny elevator, or groovy large steps. Hurricane Shutters.
About here. ( about 16 miles north of where I live now).
Looks like I’ll be getting out of Ft. Laud right before Hav gets back from Gitmo.

Being a pedestrian in a region with no street lights / traffic lights is a scary thing. I avoid those regions wherever possible.
Newt and I had a nice conversation this morning. I have no idea what it was all about, except that he’s a cutie when he’s sleeping with his paw over his eyes, belly up… looks like a swooner on a fainting couch.

7882 – condo victory
Interview went well.. I was expecting some sort of Spanish Inquisition… it really wasn’t that bad… once they realized I was buying rather than renting and wasn’t an axe murderer.
Random mild d-list celeb crush of the moment, UPN33/wfor meteorologist Pamela Wright. She’s cute, and funny as all get out.

power’s back on at the HQ… no BSO for me today. Big Kahuna called me from work, and I could hear all of the UPSs peeping out for attention.
Ah well, it was good while it lasted.
Still warm, but there’s a hanging scent of ozone in the air.. hopefully some rain will come and cool things down.

Ugh… warm again. No A/C, and sweat was rolling off of me in rivulets for a chunk of the evening. Thankfully, it cooled down as the night progressed. I swung by the flo for a nice big plate of french toast for supper, and enjoyed the dance of crossing three streets with no lights in getting home.
No trick-or-treaters, given the downed power areas / rain / curfew / lack of kidlets living in my neck of the woods. So, I have a nice sized bag of caramel creams to bring to the BSO today. This will probably be my last day off-site, as they expect power back to my office by 5pm. We’ll see if phones and water activate, too, but I suspect that it’ll all come up at the same time.
I’ll miss the BSO… we watched The Day The Earth Stood Still on the giant monitor yesterday. Cafeteria food gratis and laid back officemates. I’m enjoying it while I’ve got it.
7pm condo interview with Joyce at the clubhouse… she sounds nice on the phone.
Costumes seen yesterday that walked past the flo – A bevy of witches, (Wicked West style, big pointy hats, long black shawls) a guy in a suit & rubber GWB mask, and a few hippies (one in a punkinhead mask).
