Hazy memories…

A 70s made-for-TV movie called “The Challenge“. A potential war is averted by having both sides agree to single combat between two champions. So Darren McGavin and Mako are sent to an uninhabited island to fight. McGavin was using an SMG that looked like two Thompsons joined together.

That sucker became the fantasy weapon of choice while waiting for the Desert Eagle to come along.

Later in the movie McGavin, deprived of his weapon, nonetheless saves the day by finding deposits of pure sulfur, saltpeter, and charcoal. He combines that with a big piece of bamboo and a handful of the diamonds lying all over the place to make an impromptu cannon. Or maybe that was someone else.

Just found my tax paperwork for 1992. (Sakes… This folder has been through some tough times for me)

I made $11,009.83 that year. (I was polishing off my degree, working at a nearby bookstore)

About $211 a week. ( I was making about $5.75 an hour, before taxes) Is that even minimum wage anymore?

Bathroom, phone jack, light switches, front door jamb, closet door.

Trivial, but I think the Landlord should take care of ’em.

I’ll collect a list over this week, and give it to ’em all at once.

Ahhh….

My Sweetie’s back in town. It’s like a great pressure has been released…I’m so glad that she made it home safe and sound. She Surprised me last night at about 10pm, and we got to catch up about our respective weeks. (She had a far more interesting one than I did… I look forward to pictures, and more elaborate descriptions as time goes by.) I look forward to spending some time with her today, but she’s also got to do chores, for being gone a week, and I need to continue unpacking. No spongebob today to watch with her, No Cable at all. I’m thinking about going satellite. In other packing news, I’ve been kicking up a *lot* of dust…I have to buy a broom and mop today (I’m silly traditional that way… don’t bring an old broom into a new house)

Anyhow, I’m awake after spending the first night in the new place. I’m going to take things easy today, because, heck… that’s what Sundays are for.
