Swamp walk qday 172 supplemental: I actually got a quick peek at the bald eagle! Not the best shot, but he is a big boy, full white head and tail.

Swamp walk quarantine day 172

Critters were awesome today! Left at about 8am, Alexa said it was 70⁰F, but no, it was at least 75 or more, at least with the moist air and tree wall breaking the bay breeze.

2 bald eagles, 1 albino squirrel, gigantic v of geese, “alien” black cat, panda the cat, fluffernutter cat, all before I got to the swamp proper.

Kettlebell neighbor guy says that the bald eagle lives in the tree behind his house, a different location than the two-year olds down the road. I hope they aren’t having territory issues.

Humans seen aside from kettlebell guy were all in vehicles, kettlebell wasn’t wearing a mask, but he was well away on his driveway.

Once I got to the swamp, there were a few roads and frogs, and I saw a turtle butt bloop into the water before camera was ready. Ground was very wet post rain, hardly any mosquitoes. I still imagine the frogs had plenty to eat.

Back is better today, either due to stretching, walking , or meds. Likely a combo. Running about a 4-5, over yesterday’s 7.

The “v” of geese was more like a drawn path of a ball bounced down stairs. They had a lot to say, honk-wise.

Swamp walk quarantine day 171.

Got a little bit wet from rain, left at midday and kept it more brief, due to a minor slip and fall yesterday, I am a bit more achy today.

Weather is mild, mid 70s. I am thankful that it feels more like autumn than summer today.

Swamp was a bit moist, but thankfully light on mosquitoes.

Our squash, asparagus and grapes are growing at breakneck speed.

Human count about 7. None were wearing masks except for me, but distance was maintained.

4 osprey, 6 hummingbirds (!), And a nice assortment of songbirds here and there, too. Not sure if I saw an eagle or not, but turkey vultures were plentiful overhead too.

Allison’s birthday week is now passing and a long weekend s ahead. She got some good loot, and tasty cake.

Used the ice cream maker for the first time to do maple caramel , and cake was lemon, a surprisingly good combination.

Quarantine/ social distance day 167

5.5 months, give or take.

I want to see more positive movement forward, especially for my personal health. Back, lungs, brain all can benefit from some fresh methodology.

I’ve lost some weight, if the fit of my clothes is any indication, so that is an unexpected beneficial side effect. Not a lot, but a detectable amount.

A bit fearful of going to doctor in person, but telehealth may be the way to go, even if my results are not optimal.

I am thankful for BHK and Pye… I couldn’t ask for more wonderful and lovable family with which to share the space under a roof.
