Ok, I’ll play.

Day 1 of 10: Ten movies that made an impact on you and remain in your rotation, in no particular order. Post the poster, no need to explain. Nominate a person every day.

Today, I’m nominating Nix Elizabeth A-Bomb (no pressure, but I’d love to see yours)

Some elements of the film could be seen as problematic today, but I just love it. One of my favorite roles for Sean Connery is Agamemnon, and David Warner is fantastic as Evil. Supreme Being is quite how I envision he might exist.

Gilliam has referred to Time Bandits (1981) as the first in his “Trilogy of Imagination”, followed by Brazil (1985) and ending with The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988). All are about the “craziness of our awkwardly ordered society and the desire to escape it through whatever means possible.” All three films focus on these struggles and attempts to escape them through imagination: Time Bandits through the eyes of a child, Brazil through the eyes of a man in his thirties, and Munchausen through the eyes of an elderly man. I would recommend bringing on all three of you want a really good look at a strong formative look at my attitudes as a teen. (I will try not to add more Terry Gilliam movies, but one more slip in before I finish this. )
