6689 Home again… that was quick.

Wow… DAfT was pretty weak. nice effects, but bad acting and writing. A pity.. there was some real potential there. I’d say to rent the Poseidon Adventure rather than going to see it. (Pretty nice page, too.) It’s pretty sad when Dennis Quaid can’t save a movie. He just walked through.

Dan & I were reduced to passing notes back and forth on my palmtop, and giggling like we were in high school. We wrote in red on a black background so we didn’t suffer from any pupil-shift.

Dan’s Starting commentary –

I feel no emotion for this movie. The writing is poor, etc. Now, I am only interested in the special effects.

Got to see the core of Danny’s SF club… not a bad crew, overall. Some discernible stereotypes, but nice folks, I think. Interesting that they all have LJs… or at least Deadjournals.

Finally got a decent shot of Danny out of “goon pose” mode.

Sushi was ok, maybe an even 5 out of 10.

After the movie, we hit D&B’s for some pod racer, but didn’t stay long (Dan won 3 of three games)… very loud. We both had the seeds of headaches, and by then, it’d been 5 hours since we’d eaten, so to A-Blimpies we went. We both were feeling much better after the meal… I wonder if there was something wrong with the sushi, or if the flu was hitting us both, despite the sammich made by a prizefighter.

Post-Blimpies, we hit the drugstore, and got some meds for headache and cough. Some ‘tussin, and a Snickers.

I may not go out to see the Odd Couple tonight… sort of feeling a bit bleh. Still tuning in to tonight’s Justice League
