“Hey pop, would you be so kind as to give me something? No, not that. Something else. I don’t know what I want, but please keep trying until I am bored playing this game or you crack my brain code. Gimme sumtin!”

Happy 91st Birthday to Disney Legend, animator, and Imagineer Roland Fargo “Rolly” Crump, who was born in Alhambra, California on this day in 1930. First joining Walt Disney Studios in 1952, he worked as an inbetweener, before becoming an assistant animator. In 1959, Crump joined #WEDEnterprises and became a designer of some of #Disneyland’s attractions and shops, including The #HauntedMansion, #EnchantedTikiRoom and Adventureland Bazaar. He was also responsible for designing many of the #Disney attractions at the #1964NewYorkWorldsFair, including #itsasmallworld and the #ToweroftheFourWinds marquee. In 1976, Rolly designed the #Land and #WondersofLife pavilions for #EpcotCenter. Happy Birthday Rolly!#disneylegend #rollycrump #waltdisney #disneyimagineer https://instagr.am/p/CL0mWgSA2cy/
@maximillian_deersteak knit a sweet surprise of a warm hat for Sisto Brak! They say you lose most of your heat through your head, so maybe this is the solution to his chilly situation! (And springtime is rapidly approaching)
He will enjoy his swampwalks in far greater comfort next week!

Dave Porter’s Return to School by Edward Stratemeyer, 1907
“Carl was made to bow until his nose touched the floor.”
Edward L. Stratemeyer (October 4, 1862 – May 10, 1930) was an American publisher and writer of children’s fiction. He was one of the most prolific writers in the world, producing in excess of 1,300 books himself, selling in excess of 500 million copies. He also created many well-known fictional book series for juveniles, including The Rover Boys, The Bobbsey Twins, Tom Swift, The Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew series, many of which sold millions of copies and are still in publication today. On Stratemeyer’s legacy, Fortune wrote: “As oil had its Rockefeller, literature had its Stratemeyer.”
O God, in the name of Your Prophet, our great Lawgiver, that we, created and born in Your divine image, may aspire the more perfectly to that spiritual Godliness and bodily beauty which You, in Your infinite mercy, have thought fit to deny to our brutish enemies!
Another part of Beneath the Planet of the Apes that might speak to modern audiences. Zaius uses a rifle (only time he uses a gun!) to smash the busts of humans, whom he considers wholly evil creatures.
Random Scotto factoid – my favorite region of the Walt Disney theme parks Adventureland. (If you could wedge the haunted mansion in there, it would be almost a perfect sweep.
Sorry, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. (Not that I don’t love you guys too, but Adventureland is my “favorite child”… note, I have never visited Galaxy’s Edge)
Some reasons include (in no particular order, and not exclusive) –
Tiki room
Shrunken Ned
Pirates of Caribbean
Dole whip
Kungaloosh!
