So a man who has had government-provided health care his whole life, who is currently racking up hundreds of thousands of dollars in health care costs, which will be paid for by taxpayer dollars, is taking a cross-country trip, at taxpayer expense, and against doctors’ wishes, to vote to advance a bill that will take healthcare away from millions of Americans.

Any of my friends who were waxing rhapsodic last week about his character care to weigh in now? Illness does not make you a good person. It just makes you a person who got ill. Unlike millions of Americans, though, he won’t have to worry about how to pay the hospital bills.
