LEGO Atari 2600 has an incredible, unexpected Easter Egg for fans of the ‘90s.
This is unorthodox, as Atari as a company famously peaked in the early ‘80s. LEGO 10306 Atari 2600 does for the famous wood-panelled console what 71374 does for the Nintendo Entertainment System: a chunky, brick-built loveletter to a famous games console from decades past.
This set comes with not only an Atari Joystick but also several game cartridges, and little dioramas representing three of Atari’s most famous games: Asteroids, Centipede, and Adventure.
Plus, flip up the top of the console, and here’s another diorama: a 1980s living room, complete with tiny period-appropriate posters…
Wait. What’s that?
Johnny Thunder, what are you doing here?!
The main character of the LEGO Adventurers theme, Johnny Thunder debuted in 1998, making him waaay too young to belong in this 1980s nostalgia scene.
Except, of course, we all know why he’s here. Johnny Thunder is and always has been heavily inspired by Indiana Jones, so he’s clearly included in this set to fill in for a Raiders of the Lost Ark poster.
