Back to text and stills. #swampwalk quarantine isolation day 459.
Bog safari turned up a lot of insects, mostly dragonflies, those weird tiny aphids that look fuzzy and white, hanging in the sky like dandelion seeds, a few mosquitos , a couple of ladybird and too many japanese beetles (the latter on our grapevines)
A few cardinals and lots of grackles, one fat squirrel and two neighborhood cats.
Shade was still good but the shot here shows a hole in the canopy, maybe that tree is dead?
It didn’t feel as hot as yesterday, though the thermometer said otherwise. The power of a cool drink works wonders. Speaking of drinks, I really need to bring another trash bag out there and pick up all the plastic water bottles by the entrance of the area. It seems that folks are seeing trash and just adding to it rather than picking it up.
Back is doing better post epidural, thus the return to #walkies. I hope the meds take for a while, because the pain of sciatica and arthritis is not fun at all. Pain level currently 3 out of 10 (as opposed to 7 of 10 previously)
Pain scale I use for the record –
0 Pain free
1 Very minor annoyance-occasional minor twinges
2 Minor annoyance-occasional
3 Annoying enough to be distracting
4 Can be ignored if you are really involved in your work, but still distracting,
5 Can’t be ignored for more than 30 minutes.
6 Can’t be ignored for any length of time, but you can still go to work and participate in social activities.
7 Make it difficult to concentrate, interferes with sleep, you can still function with effort
8 Physical activity severely limited. You can read and converse with effort. Nausea and dizziness may occur.
9 Unable to speak, crying out or moaning uncontrollable- pain makes you pass out
10 Unconscious. Pain makes you pass out
