It’s finally happened. Allison has gone full gourd this morning.
For breakfast, I’ve given her pumpkin spice yogurt with a pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin spice peanut butter and pumpkin spice cream cheese on pumpkin spice bread.
She gives new meaning to “turn into a pumpkin”.
Philippines-based artist Jordan Mang-osan harnesses the power of the sun to create beautifully detailed works of pyrographic art. Pyrography (or pygrogravure) is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object. For Mang-osan that object is a magnifying glass, which he uses to direct the heat of the sun to etch dark marks onto prepared sheets of plywood. He creates pieces that range from grand landscapes to detailed portraits. It’s a slow and painstaking process required great skill and patience. Each piece takes Mang-osan several months to complete.
“The artist, who is an ethnic Igorot hailing from the mountainous Cordilleras region, stays close to his roots by working with raw, indigenous materials and focusing on subject matter that celebrates the rich heritage of his people and his country.”

The day-to-day occupation of the average secret agent mostly consists of hurry up and wait. In my case, that means filling in on annoying bits of administrative scutwork and handling upgrades to the departmental network—when I’m not being called upon to slay multi-tentacled horrors from beyond spacetime. (Which doesn’t happen very often, actually, for which I am profoundly grateful.)
All morning, it’s been like the opposite if the opening of the prisoner. Fingerprinted, background check, and so many forms to fill.
Rather nice things:
They scanned my hands for prints rather than using an inkpad.
The security officers were all quite professional and friendly.
Building is easily accessible by metro.
Hmm.. and I just thought it was a Conan thing.
