Saturdaze

This morning there was no hot water in master bathroom. The pipe froze somewhere between the kitchen and bathroom. Larry worked out the solution of drilling a hole in the floor and running a tube down and blowing the hair dryer where the freeze was thought to be. Thankfully, the pipe didn’t burst and we have hot water flowing again.

Dinner at Laughing Buddha with in-laws was tasty and lovely as always.

Lizzie Borden on lifetime kinda sucked. Flowers in the Attic was surprisingly on the mark.

First of all, the bird known as the potoo is awesome. Possibly the derpyest bird in the world.

Next, Bro has high bilirubin – his liver is involved. Having hep C and past drug use doesn’t help. I hope he is ok, and mends up.

Finally, pictures of snow and ice.

Shot of the solar powered stake light in my in-laws garden. It usually sticks out of the ground about 6 inches or so.

My footprint and the hulk truck tire print melted from snow into ice.

A replay of a love note from 7 years ago

Thursday

Thinking about 80s videogame memories of joust and battlezone.

Joust, I remember playing with my brother at a bar / pool hall on Marathon Key while our maternal grandfather passed dirty jokes on cocktail napkins at the vet or our dad shot cue over a pitcher of beer or two with some of the locals. I was maybe 12 or so and Derek about 8. I’ve probably written about this before. A quick scan says yes. I can still hear the sound of the pterodactyl attack. I love the idea of riding on the back of a flying ostrich and crushing hatched knights, especially the blue ones.

Battlezone, on the other hand reminds me of skating rink arcade machines and my putting in Kevin Cummins initials for him on his birthday. (How I found out his middle name is Patrick.) I wonder if they got rid of the viewfinder from the original machines because it likely spread pink eye.

Watched Supernatural tonight. Sons of Anarchy last night. 3 episodes each. Not sure which, if either will be the next binge watch.

Started with the Pilot – http://www.supernatural.tv/epguides/pilot.htm

Wendigo – http://www.supernatural.tv/epguides/wendigo.htm

Dead in the Water – http://www.supernatural.tv/epguides/diw.htm

How we spent the snow day

Allison and I watched the rest of Trailer park boys, then the Bronies documentary, and the first episodes of My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic.

image
No Brony me.

The show is cute enough, but I’m not going to swear slavish fealty to it.

Sean, Duncan and Vera stopped by, traveling via sled. A brief visit with hot chocolate and Mickey mouse cartoons was enjoyed by all.

I’m hoping the lovely snow keeps Allison home with me another day.
