Is asking just “polite demanding” or something else?


Mel’s cousin bonked her head yesterday, and got knocked out… four years old. I hope to hear the little munchkin woke up and is mending well today. We’re going to get together for lunch today, after I finish fixing Caroline’s computer. Man, that’s been an ongoing chore…. a four or five year old laptop with power-supply issues.


Charo is an awesome guitarist. I had no idea that she was married to Xavier Cugat!

I thought Rodger Bumpass and Dick Butkus had terrible, mockable names… but Dick Trickle? You can’t tell me that he wasn’t destroyed in school for having that name, dear journal.

Some Abstinence Programs Mislead Teens, Report Says

Many American youngsters participating in federally funded abstinence-only programs have been taught over the past three years that abortion can lead to sterility and suicide, that half the gay male teenagers in the United States have tested positive for the AIDS virus, and that touching a person’s genitals “can result in pregnancy,” a congressional staff analysis has found.

Those and other assertions are examples of the “false, misleading, or distorted information” in the programs’ teaching materials, said the analysis, released yesterday, which reviewed the curricula of more than a dozen projects aimed at preventing teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease.
