6944 – Sweet Monkey Tuesdays… it’s Monday.

Happy Birthday Lexie! My gosh… 4 already!

sammykunSammy gave me a copy of the Superman – Secret Identity miniseries.. it’s a great read… probably some of the better stuff I’ve read in the genre for years. Kurt Busiek did a great job.

I’ve never met anyone named Detlev that wasn’t an evil-minded person. (For the record, I’ve only met 2 Detlevs.)

After hearing so many poo-poo reviews of Team America, so I switch my brain-gears and went to see Garden State, instead. (Natalie Portman is supposed to be good again… Her acting in the Star Wars series wrecked my perception of her skill, but this supposedly will made up for it.) No Dice. Timing was off, so I just rode around on the water bus instead. I got some fresh air and a little needed sun… visited the 15th street fisheries to look for pelicans and manatees, but failed to spot the latter, or get any good shots of the former.

I’ve been on the water bus enough now to point out housing used by local famous folks, and give estimates on how much it costs to maintain a large yacht.

I just liked the look of it… giant arc. I’m going to have to do it from up above soon.
Helipad on a yacht? Helipad on a yacht?
Who is this guy, Don Trump or James Bond?
Jungle Queen Jungle Queen
The longest-running tour craft in Fort Lauderdale. They gab about the celebs and assorted hubbub that takes place along the river. Despite the appearance, no gambling takes place on board. (to my knowledge)

The kid was the most squirmy, whiny, pouty-puss I’ve ever seen… would only shut up if his Dad would fork over the cell-phone to play ring tones over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Fortunately, they got off fairly soon. I hope that the pop gave the kid a stern word once in private, but I suspect he didn’t.

Jon Stewart’s appearance on Crossfire.

Kudos! Talking about partisan politics having no place on and real news network. Cool to see a comic telling supposed newscasters how to do things in a more reasonable, honest, and intelligent way, sans spin.

Censored SNL Animation about Corporate ownership of media. Here is the song that was removed from the re-airing of a Saturday Night Live show from March. Most likely, NBC’s owner, the $80B GE corporation, didn’t like the truth being told on its own network.

Goes nicely hand and hand with Pirates & Emperors
