Exhort derives from Latin exhortari, “to encourage strongly,” from ex-, intensive prefix + hortari, “to incite, to encourage.”

To pass the summer in a dormant state.

From Latin aestivatus, past participle of aestivare, to reside during the summer.

(Like a summer version of hibernate.)
